We build a public site for the association, with board tools for meetings, notes, and events. Use your own domain, or an address under ours.
The two offers
What both offers include.
The pages and board tools are the same either way. The difference is the address and the price.
We priced these with HOA budgets in mind. Associations run on dues, not business budgets.
Included with both
- 5 to 7 public pages, including a contact form.
- 3 to 5 basic admin pages, including meeting scheduling and meeting notes/minutes upload.
- A notification banner bar the board can turn on and off.
- An events page the board can update.
Hosting
Both offers run on Cloudflare: the package on your own account (or ours, if you add the care plan), the rental on ours. Every site gets:
- DDoS protection
- SSL/HTTPS included
- Global CDN for fast loading
- Cloudflare’s web application firewall and bot protection, which we can turn on for your site
Your own domain
HOA Website Package
$750
For an association that already has its own domain.
You set up your own Cloudflare account and your own GitHub account, and add 16 Bit Bytes to both. We set the site up in those accounts, so you own the hosting and the code. Cloudflare’s free plan is enough for a site like this.
No domain to buy
HOA Subdomain Rental
$199 setup then $25 a month, or $250 a year, for the rental.
A subdomain is an address under our domain. For example, your site could live at yourhoa.16bitbytes.com, so you don’t need to buy or manage a domain of your own.
The rental includes the same features as the HOA Website Package.
Small edits aren’t included; we bill them at $50 an hour, quoted before we start.
Package add-on
Optional care plan
$39 a month or $349 a year
An optional care plan is available for package clients for $39 a month or $349 a year. It moves your site’s hosting to our Cloudflare account and adds support, plus up to two small edits a month. Ask us about it through the contact form.
This is the care plan for HOA sites; our Managed Website plan ($250/yr) doesn’t apply to them.
A small edit is a quick update to something already on your site, about 15 minutes of work. Your plan includes up to two each month.
That covers changing text, swapping a photo or document, updating a link, a contact or a board member, adding an event or meeting notes beyond what your admin pages already handle, or adding a short block of text or a photo to an existing page.
Anything bigger is billed at $50 an hour, and we’ll quote it before we start. That includes new pages, redesigns or layout changes, new features or forms, moving content from an old site, and anything that takes longer than 30 minutes in a month.
Unused edits don’t carry over. If something on the site stops working because of our code or our hosting setup, for care plan and subdomain rental clients, we fix it at no charge, and it doesn’t count as an edit.
Support is included with the subdomain rental and with the package’s optional care plan: Mon–Fri, 9 AM–4 PM ET (closed holidays). The package on its own doesn’t include support after launch.
